Nikki was born on September 11, 2003 in Lynbrook, NY. Her Dad was offered a great job opportunity in San Diego, Ca when she was only one years old, so her family of 5 relocated from NY to CA and lived there for about 3 years until moving to Sarasota, Florida in 2007.
Nikki’s first sports activity was Gymnastics. Her parents thought she would like to flip and tumble but just after 6 months at the Acrofit Gym in Sarasota, she learned Level 3 Bars, Beam, Floor and Vault under the guidance of her coach Jamie Griffitts. At 7 years old, Nikki competed in her first Level 3 AAU Gymnastics event in Naples, Florida on Jan 15th, 2011. With 10 points being the highest score for each skill and 40 in total, Nikki received a 33.85.
Nikki then competed in the Level 3 Gymnastics 3rd Qualifier in March 2011. She placed 1st place overall with a score of 38.00, the highest score made from any of the girls in a Qualifier.
Then 2 months later in May 2011, Nikki became AAU Florida State Champion with an overall score of 37.125. She placed first on Bars with a 9.65 and 1st on Floor with a 9.325.
One month after becoming State Champion, Nikki traveled to North Carolina for the SEC Regional Gymnastics Championships, June 2011, where she placed first in Bars, Beam, Floor and was the All-Around Champ.
The 2012 Florida State Championship was held in Daytona Beach, Florida on April 29, 2012. Nikki at 8 years old trained for Level 6 and became Florida State Champion for the second time.
From competing in Gymnastics, Nikki has learned self discipline, uses exclusive body weight exercises to build upper body, lower body, and core strength, being able to see the direct relationship between hard work and results, has the self control to make corrections when a coach asks her to. All of this is a huge benefit to her training and competing in Tennis.
